Korean student visa D4

Visa D4-1: study Korean language

Korean student visa D4 is a visa for DHS students to study Korean at Korean language schools. This is the most common type of visa for DHS.

Conditions for getting a D4-1 visa are quite simple, you just need to:

  • Graduated from high school, with a 3-year high school grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 or higher.
  • Graduating from high school for no more than 3 years (if you graduate from a higher education system, you will be able to leave for a longer time).
  • No conviction is
  • Not banned from entry or exit in Vietnam and Korea.
  • Ensuring academic health requirements, not suffering from infectious diseases (such as tuberculosis, lung, HIV/AIDS) …)

Visa D4-6: Study Abroad

Visa D4-6 is a student visa. A type of visa only granted to international DHS accepted by a certain vocational college in Korea for admission. Visa D4-6 will be issued to DHS to register for a specific profession in Korea (eg beauty, mechanics, electronics, cooking…)

During your apprenticeship, you will be able to work and learn at the same time. That means you will be able to learn and practice the profession, and at the same time receive a salary.

Conditions for obtaining a D4-6 visa include the conditions of a D4-1 visa. One more condition is that you must register to study a specific profession at a Korean vocational college.

Korean student visa D2

After you have spent 1 year studying Korean, you will be granted a D2 visa – a visa for international students specializing in: University, college, vocational college.

The condition for you to study majors in colleges/vocational colleges is to pass TOPIK 2. Passing TOPIK 3 will be eligible for university studies, and passing TOPIK 4 you are eligible to participate in postgraduate courses. learn.
– Visa D2 has a maximum stay of 2 years, visa expiration can be extended.
– Having a D2 visa means you are allowed to work up to 25 hours/week. Weekends and public holidays are not limited to overtime.

Korean student visa D10: Issued after graduation

You will be issued a D10 visa immediately after graduation, even if you do not have a job at that time. With this visa, you will be able to stay in Korea and try to work for 2 years. However, if in 2 years you still have not signed a labor contract, you must return to your home country.

All DHS holders with a D2 visa can switch to a D10 visa upon graduation. Note that this visa is only for professionals who are officially trained in Korea (ie, going to work abroad will not receive this visa).

Study in Korea Visa E7

After graduation, if you can sign any contract with Korean companies and businesses, your visa will be transferred to E7 Visa. Visa duration is 1 year, after 1 year you must apply for a visa if you want to continue working here.

Visa E7 is a visa issued to skilled and highly trained workers. In a word, Korean student visa E7 is issued to workers with qualifications to work in Korea.
Currently, most of those who have a D2 or D4 visa are switching to an E7 visa to work and settle in Korea for a long time. In fact, the Korean government also encourages this, because the country is short of highly skilled labor. Especially, the technical workforce is aimed at serving the industry in this country.

To be granted or converted to an E7 visa, you need to ensure the following conditions:

  • Under 35 years old
  • Have at least 1 professional intermediate degree or higher

After 5 years, the visa will be converted to F2 visa (long-term settlement), after the next 2 years will be converted to F5 visa (permanent residence visa in Korea).
