Applying for a Russian tourist visa

1. Proof of identity: Proof of identity is a document proving the applicant’s personal identity. The more complete and detailed the documents are, the higher your reliability will be, and the easier it will be for your visa to be accepted. Specifically, the documents you need to provide include:

• The Russian visa application form must be filled out completely, clearly and signed;
• Prepare 02 cards with size 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background (taken no more than 06 months ago);
• Original passport with at least 06 months validity and at least 02 blank pages for visa stamp. If you have ever changed your passport, you need to attach a copy of the old passport.
• Curriculum vitae and household registration book (notarized photocopy and must be full of pages);
• Identity card or citizen identity card (notarized on both sides);
• Health insurance (if any);
• Marriage certificate (if traveling with spouse);
• Child’s birth certificate (if traveling with small children, no identity card);
• If you come to Russia for the purpose of visiting relatives, or studying abroad with sponsorship, the sponsor needs to present a certificate of not being infected with HIV or other infectious diseases.

2. Proof of work: Proof of work is to verify that the applicant is a person with a stable occupation and income. In addition, it is also to prove a binding relationship in Vietnam as well as to show that you are a responsible person at work and have no criminal cases during the immigration process. Depending on the specific object, the proof of employment will be different:

• For business owners: a copy of the company establishment license/business household owner’s certificate, a notarized copy of the business registration certificate, confirmation of company tax payment in the last 3 months, registration certificate taxes, VAT declarations, etc.
• For civil servants/employees (salaried employees): You must provide the Labor Contract or the decision to appoint the position, the salary slip of the last 3 months, the application for leave to go to Russia.
• Students: Certificate of being a student of the school, photo student card, letter of leave to go to Russia certified by the principal.
• Retired people: Certificate of retirement regime, account statement or retirement book.

3. Financial proof: A clearly, properly, and legally demonstrated financial position always helps to strengthen the applicant’s profile somewhat. Therefore, any applicant needs to learn clearly about this procedure before applying for a self-sufficient Russian visa:

• Salary slips of the last 3 months;
• Passbook copy and original. Savings book deposited in the bank for at least 03 months (from the date of visa application);
• Minimum bank account balance of $5,000 (must have balance confirmation);
• Certificates of other assets such as bank account statements, real estate documents, cars, stocks, shares, securities (if any), documents proving other valuable assets.

4. Trip schedule: A well-prepared visa application package, specific plans where to go, what to do, etc. will help you become a reliable and easy tourist. Get the visa you want. To be able to achieve this, you need to prepare the following documents:

• Details of arrival and departure dates, stops in Russia (intended sights, what to play, whom to meet, when to return,…);
• Confirmation of round-trip air ticket booking;
• Trip insurance policy;
• Invitation letter, guarantor information (if there are relatives in Russia);
• Make a hotel reservation to coincide with your trip’s schedule.
